Race and Assisted Technological Reproduction
Dr. Camisha Russell is an assistant professor of philosophy at the University of Oregon and co-editor of Hypatia: A Journal of Feminist Philosophy. In this episode, we talk to Dr. Russell about her serpentine path to a Ph.D. in philosophy – spoiler alert: she only took two undergraduate courses in the discipline. We also discuss her book, The Assisted Reproduction of Race: how race shapes societal concepts of kinship, and the complications involved in NOT selecting for ethnic/racial identity when choosing a sperm donor.
My co-host for this episode, Hunter Clark, is a senior at the University of North Florida, Hunter Clark.
